Which EVs are your chargers compatible with?
Our portable chargers use a standard Type 2 connector, which is compatible with the vast majority of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles sold in the UK and Europe — including Tesla, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Kia, MG, Polestar and many more. If you're unsure about your specific model, send us the make, model and year and we'll confirm.
What's the difference between the 3.5 kW and 7 kW models?
The 3.5 kW charger is designed for standard UK domestic three-pin or compatible supplies and is ideal for overnight top-ups. The 7 kW charger roughly doubles the charging speed where a suitable higher-output supply is available, making it better for faster turnarounds. Both are fully portable.
How long does a full charge take?
Charging time depends on your vehicle's battery size and current charge level. As a rough guide, a 3.5 kW charger adds around 15 miles of range per hour, and a 7 kW charger around 30 miles per hour. Your car's onboard charger may also limit the maximum rate it will accept.
Which cable length should I choose?
We offer 5 metre and 10 metre cables on both models. The 5 m cable suits most driveways and home setups, while the 10 m cable gives extra reach for awkward parking spots or shared/communal spaces.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
No. Our chargers are portable and plug into a compatible existing supply — there's no fixed wall installation or certified electrician required. Always follow the supplied safety instructions and only use with a suitable, well-maintained socket.
Are they safe to use outdoors and in the rain?
Yes. BijleeX chargers are built for everyday outdoor use with weather-resistant housings and built-in safety protections. Avoid submerging connectors in standing water and store the unit dry when not in use.
Can I use the charger while travelling?
Absolutely — portability is the whole point. The unit is compact enough to keep in your boot for charging at friends' homes, holiday lets, or anywhere with a compatible supply.
